The Granbury VFW Post #7835 (Post members and Ladies/Men's Auxiliaries) are planning to do a PAT TOWNE APPRECIATION DAY on December 6th, 2008 from 2-5 pm at our Post. She has been a member of the VFW LA for 33 years (this month). THIS IS A HUSH HUSH THING as she is not to know of it also. Her health is declining and we want to let her know how much she means to all of us for all she has done over the years (unselfish dedication, volunteerism, etc.)
We plan to do a ROAST on her instead of a sad thing as she would find this more to her liking than being all teary eyed. We are asking everyone who has some 'interesting and funny stories' which they were a part of with her and would be willing to share with everyone who shows up to come prepared with their stories and pictures if at all possible. We plan to do a slide show of some pictures we have of her during the roast.
NO GIFTS please as we would like to either get cash donations for a MONEY TREE or Gift Cards to Wal-Mart or Brookshires as these two stores she shops at. She does not have any place where she lives to store items which are why we are asking that no one brings gifts.
We will be serving FINGER FOODS and if anyone would like to bring something also, please let me know so we know the types of foods being brought and duplications can be avoided.
